2. What Data We Collect

Account data: Email address, name, and password hash when you create an account.
Document data: Document content (markdown or PDF URL), sender and recipient names and emails submitted via the API.
Signing data: Signatures, timestamps, IP addresses, and SHA-256 hashes collected during the signing ceremony.
Usage data: API call logs, page views, and feature usage for service improvement.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

Provide the document signing service and deliver signed documents to both parties.
Generate tamper-proof signing certificates with SHA-256 integrity hashes.
Authenticate API requests and manage your account.
Send transactional emails (signing invitations, completed document notifications).
Improve our service and fix bugs.

4. Data Retention

Signed documents and signing certificates are retained for 7 years to comply with legal record-keeping requirements. Account data is retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@signb.ee.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

Signing counterparties: The recipient receives the document and signing certificate as part of the signing flow.
Infrastructure providers: Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and our database provider for operational purposes.

6. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Documents are protected with SHA-256 integrity hashes. API keys are hashed before storage. We conduct regular security reviews.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR and UK data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Contact hello@signb.ee to exercise these rights.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
